- Web3 gaming experience IOTAHeroes has launched the Treasures of Shimmer Battle test on the recently launched ShimmerEVM network.
- IOTAHeroes plans to incentivize more projects by offering a prize of $SMR 1,300,000 on the ShimmerEVM testnet.
The IOTA Foundation launched the Shimmer network which serves as a testbed for all new innovations taking place within the IOTA ecosystem. Since then, a number of projects have shown interest in building atop the Shimmer network.
As per the latest development, a Shimmer-based brand new Web3 gaming experience IOTAHeroes has launched the Treasures of Shimmer Battle test on the recently launched ShimmerEVM network. With this, users will be able to mint their own test-founder hero characters and also upgrade their training facilities to train the heroes for the showdown.

As per the announcement, the Treasures of Shimmer testnet campaign has been sponsored by the Tangle Ecosystem Association (TEA). This campaign presents a wonderful opportunity to all treasure hunters, dApp pioneers, and DeFi explorers. Also, this testnet campaign from IOTAHeroes will start next week onwards from May 3. In order to incentivize more projects to join, IOTAHeroes is offering a prize of $SMR 1,300,000 on the ShimmerEVM testnet.
Furthermore, as users complete the tasks on IOTAHeroes, users will receive a limited-edition item at the game launch. IOTAHeroes is also part of the Touchpoint Open Builders Program which will allow the IOTA community to experience a casual RPG along with engaging in Play2Earn activities.
More details regarding Treasures of Shimmer
The Treasures of Shimmer will be a two-week-long activity wherein IOTAHeroes will be tracking the smart contract activity for all participating projects. Projects that contribute towards larger activity will receive a larger pie of the treasure.
This means that the more smart contract activity that a project registers, the more will be the distribution of the $SMR tokens to it. The official announcement from IOTAHeroes notes:
The larger the activity, the bigger the share of the treasure. Yes, pirate, you heard right: the more a project is used, the more $SMR tokens will be distributed to it, and, in true buccaneer manner, the earned booty will be shared generously by the competing projects with their saber-rattling crew – the users testing the competing dApps.
Thus, all the Web3 projects willing to deploy their products on the ShimmerEVM testnet have a wonderful opportunity ahead of them. However, IOTAHeroes has put forth a mandatory KYC process after which, the projects can collect their smart contract addresses which will help them stay focused on their activity.
