  • VeChain is bolstering its foothold in the blockchain world with a number of new developers being onboarded.
  • The VeChain protocol is set to launch a number of products and ink partnerships to advance its sustainability agenda.

According to a blog post, VeChain developers have been keen on developing solutions to enhance the entire ecosystem since the opening of the European Technology Centre under the guidance of Antonio Senatore, the protocol’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO). VeChain’s plan to onboard about 100 developers over 3 years is gradually coming together as over 15 developers have already been added to the team since January in a bid to compound effort toward transforming the digital and blockchain landscape.

Most of these recruits have engineering experience from top firms like Amazon, R3, Coinbase, Kraken, Hyperledger, and Infura. The supply-chain platform tapped these developers to fulfill its technical trajectory toward expanding blockchain knowledge, development experience, and delivery capability.

Together with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), the VeChain developers’ team is the foundation for a blockchain-powered sustainability revolution.

VeChain and BCG partnered to release a new sustainability-focused whitepaper ‘Web3 For Better’ as part of its effort to bring blockchain adoption to billions of people and companies. Already, BCG has an incredible reputation in the ESG/sustainability field, hence, the new alliance was billed to leverage its massive client base network to achieve a green revolution on blockchain systems.

Currently, developers of the protocol have introduced a new tech update that provides details about what the European team is doing. Web3-as-a-service platform VORJ which was purposely introduced to assist Web2.0 businesses while easily deploying Web3.0 services is one of the solutions that has been making the rounds in the VeChain ecosystem.

The VORJ is designed in such a way that it offers businesses and individual developers a simple, intuitive platform to quickly and easily deploy digital assets or integrate blockchain APIs with minimal coding experience.

Latest Tech Updates on VeChain Protocol’s VORJ

The latest update on the VORJ tool is that developers have decided to set up their Interplanetary File System (IPFS) nodes.

Before now, the Web3-as-a-Service platform has been using the IPFS for decentralized file storage to store users’ Non-fungible token (NFT) media. The decision of developers to set up their nodes is to facilitate a more reliable IPFS service and remove dependencies on third-party nodes.

Similarly, World of V (WoV) had previously adopted VORJ, using its backend APIs to run many of the statistical and analytical features on their marketplace. This time around, they are looking at facilitating a direct NFT collection listing for users on WoV as a way of bringing more utility to VORJ.

ERC-4626 standard “tokenized vaults” are also about to be supported on the VORJ front end.

This “tokenized vault” is a Decentralized Finance (DeFi) primitive contract that allows users to create contracts that lock ERC-20 fungible tokens into a contract to generate a yield. Other updates on the VORJ include the ERC-721 (NFT) additional creation flows to reduce time consumption, providing smart contract Role Based Access Controls (RBAC), and many others.
