  • The Carrefour stores and corporate brands adopt VeChain and DNV GL’s My Care™ solution as a preventive measure against COVID-19.
  • ACWA Power and a subsidiary are also implementing the VeChainThor based solution.

Two recently announced partnerships show how the adoption of solutions based on VeChain is increasing. The blockchain company has developed a solution to prevent and decrease the risk of infection for Covid-19 together with DNV GL, known as MyCarebased on the VeChainThor blockchain. Three companies with offices around the world will now implement this solution.

The first company is Carrefour Commerce and Industry, the second largest retail company in Europe which is already known for its partnership with Crystalchain to incorporate Ethereum-based blockchain technology into its products. According to the announcement, its partnership with VeChain and DNV GL has enabled it to “meet the requirements” for commercial preparedness to prevent Covid-19 infection.

Carrefour announced that it has completed the certification for its wholesale and retail locations in Brazil. Therefore, all Carrefour stores, from supermarkets, mini-markets, convenience stores, distribution centers, and pharmacies meet the risk and infection management criteria and standards by My Care™. The VeChainThor based solution was implemented in all Carrefour brands and the associated brands Carrefour Express, Carrefour Bairro, Carrefour Market, Atacadão and Drogaria Carrefour. The company announced the following:

Based on (i) the documentation provided (ii) the statements made during interviews; and (iii) the sampling criteria adopted, DNV GL believes that the processes structured and implemented by the Organization are in accordance with current good practices and meet the requirements applicable to the management of infection risks in the workplace. The companies will use the My Care™ methodology to apply hygiene and sanitation capabilities to strengthen the confidence of employees, consumers, authorities and shareholders in prevention and risk management initiatives. In doing so, both companies hope to strengthen trust across the entire energy sector.

ACWA Power’s director of Health, Safety and Environment said the following about the company:
