  • With European cruise company Color Line, the next company will adopt My Care, a solution developed by DNV GL and based on the VeChain blockchain.
  • The My Care assessment was carried out for all six Color Line passenger and cargo ships operating between Norway and Denmark, Germany and Sweden.

My Care, the coronavirus prevention solution jointly developed by DNV GL and VeChain, is enjoying increasing adoption. Following the recent implementation of the VeChainThor Blockchain-based solution by Viking Lines, the international hotel group InterContinental and the world’s leading steel company ArcelorMittal, DNV GL has now evaluated the cruise company Color Line using the My Care™ methodology.

Color Line AS is the largest cruise line operating on routes to and from Norway. The company is also one of the leading operators in Europe and offers passenger and freight transport. According to yesterday’s DNV GL publication, DNV GL has verified the cruise line and determined that Color Line’s infection prevention processes and measures are sufficient to ensure people’s safety and comply with local regulations.

The My Care evaluation included Color Line’s management systems on all six passenger and cargo ships that operate between Norway and Denmark, Germany and Sweden, as well as on the associated terminals. By passing the verification, Color Line is the first company in Norway to be verified by DNV GL for systems related to the management of infection risks.

As Anette Aaser-Stene, Compliance Officer at Color Line, explained, this shows that “Color Line’s ships and terminals are safe when adequate systems are in place for both passengers and staff”. Passengers can find the My Care QR Code on board and open DNV GL’s assessment statement, which contains more details in a consumer-friendly way and are stored on the VeChainThor blockchain for added trust and integrity.

Lin Jacobsen Hammer, Sustainability and Training Manager Norway DNVGL commented on Color Line’s successful verification:

Congratulations to Color Line on achieving the My Care – Infection Prevention Ready trust mark for its vessels. Actively building trust in its infection prevention efforts demonstrates Color Line’s strong commitment to ensuring adequate and compliant infection risk management measures. Verification by a third party provides assurance that the right measures are in place to keep people safe, providing transparency and enhancing the trust of passengers and other stakeholders.

Already two weeks ago, VeChain co-founder Sunny Lu pointed out the transformative potential of My Care and commented on the adoption as follows:

As we contend with the new normal due to COVID-19, the demand for trust has never been so important. Blockchain will be one of the driving forces to increase confidence in data integrity, business credibility, and mutual trust in multi-party collaboration. With VeChain ToolChain™, we have great confidence to support DNV GL’s digital transformation strategy to develop more digital solutions like My Story™ and My Care to expand and improve their offerings to serve their clients worldwide.
