- According to a recent announcement, Solana Labs has developed a ChatGPT plug-in that integrates with the Solana network.
- The Solana blockchain strengthens its commitment to AI adoption by increasing its AI-focused strategic grants program by $9 million.
As the adoption of artificial intelligence increases among other industry players, the crypto and blockchain industry extends an arm to get a piece of the pie. In a recent announcement, it has been revealed that the Solana blockchain has embraced artificial intelligence (AI).
According to the announcement, Solana has successfully integrated with AI using a ChatGPT plugin that was developed by Solana Labs, the technology company that builds products, tools, and reference implementations to further expand the Solana ecosystem.
The ChatGPT plug-in is currently available for users to download from GitHub. The integration of AI may streamline the pathway that users take to understand the network’s computing infrastructure and DeFi projects.
Notably, users can take advantage of the plug-in and use it to purchase NFTs, inspect transactions, transfer tokens, interpret public account data, and even find NFT collections according to their floor prices.
Speaking on the new development was Anatoly Yakovenko, the co-founder of Solana and CEO of Solana Labs. Anatoly Yakovenko emphasized that developers on the network should look ahead and consider making applications that could readily integrate and interact with an AI model.
He maintains that this is the new pathway for communicating with computers, similar to how codes were used to tell computers what to do.

Anatoly Yakovenko is also confident in the capabilities of AI. Although artificial intelligence has received a lot of criticism for its perceived danger, Anatoly Yakovenko maintains that the technology will be beneficial for the Solana network, as it will make the platform easier to utilize and much more comprehensible than it already is.
Every developer building consumer-oriented apps should be thinking about how their app is going to be interacted with through an AI model because this is a new paradigm for telling computers what to do. AI will make Solana more usable and understandable.
Meanwhile, the Solana Foundation has also announced an increase to the amount put out for its AI-centered strategic grant program. The amount which was initially $1 million has raised to a whopping $10 million.
Solana intends to use the grant to push for existing ecosystems to make an attempt at exploring the many opportunities that AI models interacting with Solana could bring, especially in a safe and ethical manager. So far, over 50 applications have been sent in for the grant program, and the numbers are only expected to increase.
