American micro-blogging platform, Twitter Inc has launched a 4,000-character tweet format for its Twitter Blue customers. The company made the announcement through the official account of the Twitter Blue service.

According to the Twitter Blue service, the 4,000-character tweet feature is the company’s avenue to get its subscribers to do and say more per time. The service is currently only accessible to the firm’s clients living in the United States.

Starting today, if you’re subscribed to Twitter Blue in the US you can create longer Tweets,” the announcement reads, adding that “most standard functions of Tweeting still apply, whether you want to post a picture, use a hashtag, or create a poll. but now you can type all the way up to 4,000 characters. For now, longer Tweets on the web can’t be saved as drafts or scheduled to send later.

According to the update, long-form tweets can only be created by subscribers, but everyone on Twitter will be able to read them. In order to protect the structure of the application interface and to foster a proper user experience, long-form tweets will still be showcased like regular ones. The difference is that a read more tag will be attached to the long-form tweets.
