  • Helium Network has completed its migration to the Solana Blockchain.
  • The migration which took almost 12 months will help Helium scale its offerings across the board.

The Web 3.0 ecosystem is all about connecting and finding new opportunities to find maximal value and Helium Network (HNT) is one of the emerging protocols taking full advantage of these allowances. As revealed by the protocol, it has successfully completed the migration of its protocol to the Solana blockchain network.

As revealed, the entire conception and migration process spanned about 12 months and the completion showcased how determined the Helium team is to bring additional value to members of its ecosystem.

“After over a year of planning and development, Helium has successfully migrated to Solana, ushering in a new phase of reliability and scalability for decentralized wireless networks,” the Helium team said its its announcement, adding that “Migrating the Helium Network to Solana offers significantly more utility for the network, including faster transaction speeds and new smart contract capabilities.”

Helium Network dominates the wireless and Internet of things ecosystem for Web3.0 and it welcomes nodes that are often connected in the form of Hotspots. As explained earlier, the move to Solana will enhance the functionalities that Helium users and innovators especially can gain access to.

Since Solana will be directly responsible for the base layer housing the Helium protocol as it relates to management and maintenance, it implies that the Helium team will have more time on their hands. The team has outlined what they hope to expend the time they will have on their hands on to the benefit of every member of the Helium ecosystem. The announced details.

..Now that core developers will no longer have to maintain a layer-1 blockchain, the Helium Foundation and other contributing organizations can direct more resources towards our shared goals of accelerating the growth of decentralized wireless networks and bringing new applications that create economic efficiencies and close the digital divide.

Pushing Solana in the Limelight

The migration of Helium to Solana is not just a big win for the Helium team, it also places Solana at the forefront of dynamic innovation as it concerns the search for scalability. The Solana protocol has placed itself as a go-to platform for speed of transaction finality, low fee charges, and a thriving community of innovators.

All of these factors have made the blockchain an attractive contender as an Ethereum Killer. However, bold moves like the migration of an entire independent protocol like Helium is what will certify the outlook of Solana to other outlets looking to make related moves.

Besides the Helium migration, the Solana protocol was also in the news recently when its mobile phone dubbed Saga hit the market as the first of its kind. Solana has continued to impress its community and users of the Helium protocol are notably anticipating enhanced value addition now that Solana is the securing blockchain.
