  • The Tezos-backed PPC platform puts vehicle owners in absolute control of their data while ensuring complete compliance with the GDPR regulations.
  • PPC facilitates the trusted and secured exchange of data through the integration of a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) that governs data access and usage.

The Tezos blockchain network is making new strides in the crypto industry and as per the latest development, Tezos is recently making moves in the automotive sector. In the latest announcement, the Passport for Connected Car (PCC) solution just went live which is the result of a joint collaborative effort between the Tezos Foundation, IRT SystemX, Eniblock as well as a consortium of leading automotive actors.

The Passport for Connected Car (PCC) is a project that is part of the Tezos Foundation grants program. It is a revolutionary solution that puts vehicle owners in absolute control of their data while ensuring complete compliance with the GDPR regulations.

By leveraging the power of blockchain technology, Passport for Connected Car (PCC) offers a secure and transparent platform for managing data while simultaneously ensuring the privacy of vehicle owners. Furthermore, using blockchain technology, the PPC platform facilitates the efficient and equitable distribution of value. This unlocks new opportunities for predictive maintenance as well as pay-as-your-drive insurance.

The Passport for Connected Car (PCC) solution by the Tezos Foundation can completely transform the way vehicles operate and are tracked in the $2.8 trillion automobile industry. Similarly, it will revolutionize the way in which the global car insurance market operates, which is likely to surge to the size of $1.06 trillion by 2027.

The Passport for Connected Car (PCC) and DAO

Eniblock explains that the Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) will be central to the PPC project as it will allow the automotive sector to contribute significantly to the broader digital ecosystem. The official announcement from Eniblock reads:

Moreover, PCC enables the automotive sector to become a significant contributor to the digital ecosystem by providing a trusted and secure data exchange platform. This is made possible through the integration of a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (#DAO) that governs data access and usage.

The DAO ensures that all stakeholders, including manufacturers, insurers, and service providers, comply with agreed-upon rules and regulations, fostering trust and transparency in the ecosystem.

The PPC project can have several use cases in the automotive space. For e.g. the data will be visible in an application and the digital file will change ownership upon reselling the vehicle.

If the collection of data relies on vehicle manufacturers or maintenance networks, the insurers in this case, become the consumers. Similar to insurers, other market players can also draw data, for a fee. Thus, it suffices the idea of a multi-stakeholder and decentralized platform.

Thus, the PPC platform built using the Tezos blockchain provides a secure and transparent way to store and share crucial information regarding the vehicle, while eliminating the risk of fraud and improving transparency.
