  • According to a recent announcement, Stellar is the newest member of the CALP
    organization.
  • The new development will allow both platforms to collaborate with global
    humanitarian stakeholders.

The Stellar network, in its usual fashion, is expanding its reach in a bid to strengthen its position as a leading blockchain network.

As disclosed in recently announced shares to X, formerly Twitter, Stellar revealed that it has joined the CALP network. The CALP network is a dynamic and collaborative global network of humanitarian stakeholders actively engaged in cash and voucher assistance.

The Stellar network is joining hands with CALP to aid in the advancement of technology on humanitarian aid with Stellar Aid Assist, an open-source bulk payment solution available anywhere with an internet connection.

The partnership will allow both platforms to simplify complex cash programs, promote choice, and make a positive impact on global emergencies.

The announcement was received with positive reactions from members of the CALP and Stellar network. Community members collectively noted the importance of humanitarian aid from reputable firms at this time.

Amplifying the above sentiments, Stellar shared the following in its official announcement blog post;

“As global emergencies dominate headlines and the humanitarian world diligently responds, the CALP Network plays an invaluable role enabling, educating, and advocating for responsible cash and voucher assistance (CVA) programs.”

CALP, which initially started as the “Cash Learning Partnership,” is a platform designed to create communities for organizations, in a bid to strengthen their capabilities, knowledge, coordination, and policy for CVA.”

CALP speaks on the future of humanitarian aid

The platform has since focused on themes centering on digital payments, gender, and inclusivity. CALP also offers multi-purpose cash assistance, human mobility, and locally-led CVA to its network base. Members of the CALP organizations have collectively united to deliver the majority of humanitarian cash and voucher assistance worldwide.

At its core, the CALP Network’s purpose is to maximize all of the potential that humanitarian CVA can bring to people. Particularly in the context of a crisis as one competing for broader financial assistance.

Shortly, CALP is looking forward to an experience that allows individuals to overcome crises with dignity by exercising choice and their right to self-determination to achieve long-term well-being.

Following the successful completion of its cash transfer programs in the previous years, the Stellar Foundation revealed that it reached out to CALP for resources. The new development marks Stellar’s position as the newest member of CALP.

As the blog post explained;

“The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) turned to CALP’s vast network of educational resources as we ramped up on humanitarian cash transfer programs in preparation for the launch in 2022. A year later, we are excited to announce that SDF is the newest member organization of CALP.”
