  • Hungary to become the first country to erect a statue in honor of Satoshi Nakamoto.
  • The creators will ensure that the face is polished heavily to reflect anyone who faces it to represent the saying “we are all Satoshi”.

In January 2009, Bitcoin made its first appearance on the internet. 12 years down the line, Bitcoin has changed the face of digital currencies and served as a model for the creation of thousands of decentralized assets. Though the mysterious creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto has been commended a lot for his innovative approach to open a new chapter in the history of the internet, Hungary plans on doing something different. Two sculptures, Réka Gergely and Tamás Gilly will raise a life-size bronze bust in Budapest in honor of Satoshi Nakamoto.

The crypto community has commended the effort but raised questions on how the statue will be made since the identity of the Bitcoin creator is unknown. Many have said that Satoshi Nakamoto is just an alias, and others also assume that the name could represent a group of people who created the asset.

However, András Györfi, the initiator of the project believes the identity of the Bitcoin creator is not important. According to him, the mark he has left on the internet by leading the introduction of new digital currencies and most importantly, masterminding blockchain technology to make the world a better place needs to be celebrated.

It is an efficient, fair, and transparent database that eliminates distrust between people and can make the world a better place in many areas, from food supply to aid delivery.

We are all Satoshi

Further details reveal that the statue would be at the Graphisoft Park In Budapest’s third district. It will depict a hooded figure representing Satoshi Nakamoto and the people of the internet. The face would be made of bronze-aluminium alloy. The creators will ensure that the face is polished heavily to reflect anyone who faces it. This will represent the saying “we are all Satoshi”.

According to a report, the statue could be called the “modern anonymous”. Once this is done, Hungary will become the first country to have a statue to commemorate the groundbreaking achievement of the Bitcoin creator and to celebrate the people who embraced it.

The statue is financed by Blockchain Hungary Association, Mr.Coin, Crypto Academy, and Blockchain Budapest. 27 other organizations and individuals also supported the project. This will be a huge gift for Nakamoto who recently turned 46, as per reports which claim he was born on 5 April 1975.
