  • Shytoshi Kusama states that Shibarium will not launch during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
  • His remark has sparked renewed speculation that the layer 2 protocol is ready to launch early next year.

Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has revealed that Shibarium, the Shiba ecosystem layer 2 scaling solution, will launch very soon, but not during the holidays.

In a tweet, Kusama called on the Shiba community to focus on spending the Christmas and New Year holidays with their families. In a follow-up tweet, the developer hinted that Shiba Inu developers will continue to work on ecosystem projects through the holiday season.

Happy Holidays to more than half the. Wen Shibarium? Please know it will come very soon*, but not during a crucial time for people to spend with their family (or the resulting New Years party time). Enjoy these next days, next year is an important one for humanity,

The remark sparked new speculations in the Shiba community. One SHIBArmy member, as the Shiba Inu community is called, commented that from Kasuma’s statement, development on Shibarium is complete. However, the team is just waiting for the right moment to deploy.

The assertion is not the first time SHIBArmy members have gotten their hopes up on a possible launch of Shibarium. Previously, cryptic tweets from pseudonymous Shiba developer, ShibTrophias, had the community expecting Shibarium to launch around Christmas.

Shibarium launch could drive SHIB to new highs

With Kusama’s latest clarification, the launch of Shibarium is now expected in 2023. Previously, the dev team revealed that the public beta launch of Shibarium is close. The team has started updating the Shiba Inu main website in phases to support the launch according to ShibTrophias.

Meanwhile, the launch of the scaling solution could have important implications for the price of SHIB. For one, Shibarium will help the Shiba Inu ecosystem compete with other Ethereum scaling protocols like Polygon.

Shibarium will be a low-cost and high-throughput platform for decentralized applications (dApps). This will allow it to host all Shiba Inu projects including SHIB: The Metaverse, Shiboshi NFTs, and play-to-earn (P2E) games, among others.

Shibarium will also enable developers to bring their ideas to life in the Shiba ecosystem. An increase in its adoption will also see the burning of SHIB tokens accelerated. This could boost the price of SHIB significantly in 2023.

At press time, the memecoin was trading at around $0.0000084, down 0.48 percent in the last 24 hours. However, expert analysis indicates that the launch of Shibarium could see the price of SHIB increase by up to 100 percent.
