  • NOWPayments joins hands with Shibarium to bring a number of crypto payment users to the Layer-2 platform.

In the latest development, the popular crypto payments platform NOWPayments has announced a partnership with Shiba Inu’s (SHIB) Shibarium Tech. With this move, NOWPayments seeks to boost adoption on the platform to build on Shibarium.

As per the news, NOwPayments applied for the partnership and in return it received a positive response from Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of Shiba Inu. The payments platform further added that the two players would collectively boost the crypto adoption by building on the upcoming Shiba Inu Layer-2 platform.

The launch of Shibarium has seen a few delays recently, however, things seem to be coming on track recently. Also, the developers recently announced the launch of ShibariumEVM testnet aka PuppyNet which has received a strong response.

The recent partnership with NOWPayments is indeed a positive development for the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Users on the Layer-2 network Shibarium will get access to a secure payment gateway that supports several different sorts of cryptocurrencies.

Over the last few months, NOWPayments has been actively supporting SHIB payments. This crypto payments platform has played a vital role in boosting the use of SHIB. With this latest partnership, NOWPayments can certainly drive more players to the Shiba Inu Layer-2 scalability platform.

Furthermore, Shiba Inu is working on SHIB The Metaverse. Thus, in the future, NOWPayments can also build property in SHIB’s virtual world as part of the collaboration.

Shibarium’s PuppyNet Sees Strong Response, Shiba Inu Burns

Although there has been quite some delay in the launch of the Layer-2 scalability platform Shibarium, the recent launch of Shibarium testnet PuppyNet has seen very good traction.

Just within three weeks of launch, PuppyNet has processed a total of 2,255,398 (2.23M) transactions in 324,129 blocks with 5.0 seconds of block time. Since its launch, the PuppyNet testnet already garnered more than 100,000 wallet addresses within the first week. On the other hand, there are 71 tokens already created on the Shiba Inu Layer-2 platform. This goes to show that there’s quite a bit of interest in Shibarium and the mainnet launch could see users flocking to the platform in no time.

Also, over the last month of March, the Shiba Inu (SHIB) burns have been quite impressive. during the last month, 6.78 billion SHIB tokens were burned with 540 transactions. Thus, the total number of transactions as well as the absolute burns showed a significant increase in comparison to the previous month.

Since October 2022, March month saw the highest number of Shiba Inu burns. As per the SHIB Burn Tracker over 34.92 million Shiba Inu (SHIB) were burned in three transactions. Of these, 25.31 million SHIB coming from a single wallet.
