  • FCF Pay has announced that SHIB holders can pay for flight tickets at American Air and Air Canada.
  • The integration is only the latest bullish announcement in the Shiba Inu ecosystem.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) has continued to see more adoption despite the crypto bear market. The dog-themed memecoin can now be used to pay for airline tickets at American Air and Air Canada via FCF Pay.

FCF Pay, a crypto payments gateway platform, announced via a tweet that it has integrated its FCFPAY Visa cards with American Air, the world’s largest airline, and Air Canada, Canada’s flagship carrier.

This allows holders of the platform’s prepaid debit cards to book flight tickets and pay using about 20 stablecoins as well as SHIB.

You can use your FCFPAY visa card to book flights with Air Canada & American Air using #cryptocurrency. Easy to use, Select the balance, load the card and use it in less than 2 minutes!

Notably, FCF Pay only added support for making payments with SHIB back in October, making the memecoin the first non-stablecoin on its platform. At the time, FCF Pay also revealed that users can buy its prepaid debit cards using SHIB.

It added that SHIB can now be accepted by hundreds of online merchants including subscription-based streaming service Netflix and e-commerce giant Amazon. FCF Pay also enables users of its virtual Visa cards to connect to Apple/Google Pay in the U.S. and Canada and convert their crypto to local currency.

Will SHIB adoption drive prices to new highs?

Meanwhile, the partnership with FCF Pay has not been the only success the Shiba Inu ecosystem has recorded in its lifetime. The memecoin has been gaining traction across various industries having announced key partnerships with companies, governments, and international organizations, as well as starting its own business initiatives.

Recent partnerships that the ecosystem has announced include crypto-friendly travel agency Travala, as well the multinational organization the World Economic Forum (WEF). According to an announcement by the creator of Shiba Inu, Shytoshi Kusama, the WEF invited the Shiba community to help shape global metaverse policy.

Previously, Shiba Inu community members launched Welly, a burger joint that accepts SHIB and is governed by the Doggy DAO. Similarly, the government of Turkey also revealed plans to partner with the memecoin ecosystem earlier this year.

The growing adoption of the memecoin has ensured that the Shiba community has remained bullish and continued to build out. The Shiba Inu ecosystem has several projects it is working on including Shibarium, a layer two network, a highly anticipated metaverse called SHIB: The Metaverse, and several blockchain-based games.

The initiatives are expected to move the SHIB token from being a parody crypto to something more serious thereby giving its price a massive boost. At present, SHIB is trading at $0.0000093, up 4.3 percent in the last 24 hours
