  • Promising Layer-1 platform Peaq, currently connected to Polkadot, is on a mission to transform the mobility industry.
  • 2blox is collaborating with peaq to innovate crowd-sourcing mobility data.

Peaq, a layer-1 platform connected to the Polkadot network is on a mission to the backbone for the Economy of Things (EoT) and the DePINs and dApps that it consists of.

Peaq is now tapping 2blox, a platform that allows users to collect mobility data and earn rewards, is now tapping Peaq as its layer-1 to advance crowd-sourcing mobility data.

2blox which is currently facilitating to creation of a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) of AI-powered cameras, is collaborating with peaq to allow users to earn rewards for collecting data on traffic flows.

2box is looking to collect live data on traffic density, which typically helps drivers, urban planners, logistics professionals, and many other entities. By utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to access smart cameras, 2blox will collect data the Web3 way, while eliminating the hard work and allowing smart camera owners to earn crypto.

In the long-term, the collaboration will position Peaq as a leader in the layer-1 network, as network activities are expected to surge.

“With another DePIN joining in, peaq continues to establish itself as the top layer-1 network for such projects — which means more network activity, and, ultimately, value for the community.” Peaq explained in a blogpost.

2blox looking to compete with leading GPS providers

On a large scale, 2blox is hoping to solve a major issue in the automobile industry. In the United States, Peaq explains that three in five drivers use GPS at least once a week. The navigation service should at least be able to inform users of how busy the road can be. As peaq explains;

..if you happen to Google, you can simply look at the location of millions of people using your navigation service. There’s a trove of data ready for you to harvest, and you can use it to infer the amount of traffic in various localities.

However, 2blox is hoping to advance this process. The platform focuses on empowering people to collect anonymized data themselves while cutting down on the stress that might come with the process. The rewards for each user are also expected to be weighty, particularly in the form of crypto.

2blox is building a DePIN of AI-powered cameras for counting vehicles on the roads. Their stationary MOBI1 sensor can be set up at home to monitor real-time traffic outside. Their next product, the AI-powered MobiGo mobile app, allows users to “capture” streets Pokemon GO-style by taking their snapshots.

It is also worth noting that the insights the devices generate are anonymous, with no sensitive data leaving it at any point. Additionally, as part of the integration with peaq, the cameras in the 2blox DePIN will be outfitted with self-sovereign peaq IDs.
