  • Mercedes-Benz is partnering with Omnicom to launch its innovative NFT collection.
  • The NFT collection is the latest unveiling from Mercedes which has identified the potential in the Web3 space.

Mercedes-Benz is set to unveil an innovative collection next week, September 5th. The collection, dubbed Mercedes-Benz NXT Icons, will feature historical car models with various custom traits. Though the German car manufacturer has described it as a core collection, it is not its first experience in the Web3 space. Mercedes has clearly seen the potential offered by the innovative space and is looking to tap into it to engage with its customers.

Interestingly, Mercedes is working with Omnicom on its latest collection. A Polygon (MATIC) competitor, Omnicom is beginning to make headways in the Web3 space and garnering attention from users and partner companies.

As CNF has previously reported, Mercedes-Benz has been working extensively with Polygon as it explores the Web3 space. Most recently, Acentrik, a strategic initiative by Mercedes-Benz, deployed on the Polygon network to provide enterprise-grade tools to organizations won the Industry Innovator of the Year in 2023’s Tech Ascension Awards.

The car manufacturer is making a long-term commitment with the Mercedes-Benz NXT Icons, confirming the creation of a subsidiary Mercedes-Benz NXT, while Omnicom has set up the OxNXT studio. The partners hope that through this initiative, they can reach new customers and create new experiences for car lovers.

Next week ushers in the September mints for the era of luxury, releasing 2,693 collectibles of the same. Split into 7 eras, there will be a total of 18,860 collectibles. Bids will open at 1 ETH ($1,700), actions running for 90 minutes with the price dropping until sold or reaching the minimum 0.1 ETH ($170) price.

The luxury car brand launched its first collection, “Maschine”, a series of digital art pieces that are inspired by wheel spokes. Holders of Maschine NFTs will get a free mint pass for Icons that can be used in any of the Icon Eras.

Mercedes-Benz Leads Top Brands in Web3 Integration

Mercedes-Benz is one of a number of luxury brands including other car manufacturers tapping into Web3 products to get better engagement with their customers. Earlier this year, German automobile manufacturer Porsche released its own collection. BMW, another competing automobile manufacturer also confirmed its plans to use NFTs in its new loyalty program plans at the start of the year.

NFTs have become an innovative way for companies to build loyalty programs, get better customer engagement, and promote their brands. These companies have to collaborate with blockchain platforms such as Polygon and Omnicon for the launch which has promoted the projects’ adoption.
