  • The Shiba Inu memecoin protocol saw a 1747% increase in burn rate over the past week.
  • The token remains visible despite current market uncertainty.

The crypto market has witnessed an extraordinary event in recent times, as over 708 million Shiba Inu (SHIB) tokens were burned in a single week.

Shibburn.com, a platform that measures and analyzes token burn occurrences, revealed on Twitter that 708.76 million SHIB tokens have been permanently removed from circulation in just one week. The burn events were carried out in 69 distinct transactions, demonstrating extensive engagement by SHIB holders.

Furthermore, in the past 24 hours alone, the Shiba Inu Community has continued its impressive efforts by permanently removing 328,438,383 (328.43 million) SHIB tokens from circulation through 42 separate transactions.

The recent figure of 708.76 million SHIB tokens burned in the past week represents a significant increase in the burn rate compared to the previous week. In fact, it showcases a notable 1747% increase in the number of tokens burned. In the previous week, the community had burned 38.37 million SHIB tokens in just eighteen transactions.

This significant increase in the burn rate suggests a greater level of engagement and participation on the part of the Shiba Inu community. Token burns like these are designed to create scarcity, as the reduced supply can potentially increase demand for the remaining tokens.

By removing a large amount of SHIB tokens from circulation, the community hopes to improve the coin’s value proposition. The burn events also demonstrate the community’s proactive approach to addressing concerns about the memecoin’s abundant supply and its impact on long-term value. Shiba Inu has many notable ecosystem events to help propel the valuation of the SHIB token.

Looking ahead, the rate and amount of SHIB burns are expected to increase with upcoming upgrades and the launch of Shibarium as well as the utilities of the respective DApps that will be introduced. These developments indicate a continued commitment by the Shiba Inu community to enhance the token’s utility and address supply concerns.

Top Shiba Inu Burners That Contributed to This Memorable Event

According to the details, the majority of the burn was fueled by MARSWAP (MSWAP), a freshly launched cryptocurrency. On June 25th, the initiative permanently removed 302,622,563 (302.62 million) SHIB from circulation via 40 distinct transactions.

Another key player in the SHIB burn event is the Koyo token (KOY). Koyo token enables users to stake their tokens in various pools and earn passive income. Koyo token has made a substantial contribution to reducing the circulating supply of SHIB by transferring 252,873,213 (252.87 million) SHIB tokens to the Inferno address in a single transaction.

Additionally, the involvement of a mysterious wallet in burning 84,405,747 (84.40 million) SHIB tokens on June 21st is certainly notable. While the identity behind the wallet remains undisclosed, its actions have made a significant impact on reducing the circulating supply of SHIB.
