  • Solana users will now be able to seamlessly transfer their assets and data across multiple networks including Arbitrum, Ethereum, and Polygon, after the LayerZero integration.
  • This is a critical integration that promotes connectivity across leading blockchains, aiding the industry’s mission to disrupt the traditional financial industry.

LayerZero has announced the integration of Solana, extending its services as an interoperability protocol for cross-chain asset transfers. The recent integration allows Solana users and developers to seamlessly transfer tokens and data across multiple chains including Arbitrum, Ethereum, and Polygon, after the LayerZero integration.

LayerZero has integrated over 70 blockchains into its protocol offering users and developers one of the most comprehensive platforms to send assets and data to and from Solana via rollups, layer 1s, layer 2s, and other non-EVM chains. At the same time, the recent integration is enabled on several blockchains. the announcement confirmed that there are plans to expand the Solana integration to its full network of 70-plus blockchains.

Data from Messari shows that the protocol has facilitated the transfer of $6.7 billion worth of cryptocurrencies in the first quarter of 2024, generating $11.5 million in revenue. Speaking on the development,  LayerZero co-founder Bryan Pellegrino stated:

Integrating Solana is incredibly important. Crypto is built to disrupt the walled gardens of traditional finance. Yet, we sometimes find ourselves creating these walls all over again, like how two of the largest blockchains, Solana and Ethereum, are not able to communicate natively with each other,

The recent development is crucial for the entire crypto market which aims to revolutionize the traditional financial system. Market experts have noted that the lack of interoperability has in the past hindered the crypto industry’s efforts to innovate and challenge the traditional financial system.

In the wake of this development, Solana’s native token SOL has witnessed a margin change in the last 24 hours but continues to trade in the red over the past week.

At the time of writing, SOL is trading for $166 with investors eyeing the $200 resistance level as the next key target. Solana investors will look to secure this as the support to ensure their bullish momentum can sustain it to the next all-time high.

Despite the recent setback, investors remain largely optimistic about the long-term outlook. Its network growth has been the center of attention in the past couple of months and the possibility of a Solana ETF could also be crucial to boosting prices. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has recently tipped Solana as a leading candidate to have its ETF approved by the U.S SEC.
