IOTA, the Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) came out with a positive showing at the just concluded project ALFRIED event. Known for its capability to power enterprise-based Internet of Things (IoT) innovations, some ALFRIED partners showcased how they are integrating IOTA into their inventions as it concerns the future of autonomous vehicles.
The ALFRIED Mission and IOTA Contributions
The AFRIED project is an ambitious one, initiated to help revolutionize inner-city transportation through Automated and Connected Driving (AVF) and Intelligent Transport Systems (IVS). The project was inaugurated on the grounds that the current challenges in the transport system are not sustainable and might pose risks to users.
With the plan to design systems that can curb these risks, ALFRIED partners conducted a series of research and converged to unveil their findings and innovations at the just concluded event.
As shared by Filancore GmBH, a Decentralized Identity Management for IoT and an ALFRIED event attendee, presentations featuring Mini-trucks for traffic simulations were showcased. Besides this, the simulations for the Smart City control center which answers crucial questions like how to control traffic congestion, where motorists have to share roads with cyclists and what safe emissions allowances are permitted also underscores the importance of technology in the push to usher in a better future.

Despite its design as a protocol with unique capabilities, IOTA has been undergoing intensive upgrades over the past years to build on its mission to revolutionize digital autonomy while bolstering systems’ privacy.
