  • The IOTA based MyDataEconomy platform is available in beta version for everyone since Friday.
  • The beta test phase of the platform will run until January 31, 2021.

The Cologne-based company Senseering announced via Medium on Friday that it is opening its doors for the IOTA-based “MyDataEconony” platform free of charge for all interested beta testers with immediate effect. As CNF reported, the project had already welcomed its first pilot customers within a closed alpha phase in June with the WZL of the RWTH Aachen, the Fraunhofer IPT, WBA GmbH, SPAICER and some other partners.

As Senseering’s CEO, Dr. Daniel Trauth, explained in June, the MyDataEconomy ecosystem “not only enables a particular improvement in the quality of condition monitoring and predictive maintenance approaches, but also provides an infrastructure with which (industrial) data, digital twins, data-based services or innovative algorithms such as raw materials and goods can be exploited, exchanged and monetized in a value-added manner in the future”.

The technical basis for the MyDataEconomy platform is a digital data marketplace developed by Senseering and based on a secure and low-latency Edge-AI architecture, which can also be operated in common cloud instances (AWS, Azure, etc.). Furthermore, the MyDataEconomy platform uses the IOTA Tangle to ensure data integrity, data sovereignty and counterfeit protection.

As the announcement made the day before yesterday states, the beta is now open to everyone, with potential testers requiring an invitation. For this purpose, projects and companies can register on beta.senseering.io and will then receive access. “Especially exciting projects” can also receive a voucher for a free manager (node) for the entire duration of the beta up to and including January 31, 2021.

As part of the announcement, Senseering also showed how the marketplace works. The article explains this:

To get an impression of classical data sources you can simply start the search and search for sensors in general. A result of this search will be for example an environmental sensor in Cologne. The data can now be downloaded for free. In the future these will not only be our environmental sensors, but also your exciting and sexy Smart Home or Industrial IOT data!

To connect your own data sources and develop services that use the IOTA Tangle, users need to install their own node.
