Even with all of today’s technological advancements, hundreds of millions of people around the world remain without access to basic health records. Without adequate tools and technologies, medical professionals cannot support the health needs of rapidly growing populations. At a time when global healthcare is more important than ever, establishing innovative solutions is crucial—that’s where Immunify.Life comes in.

What Is Immunify.Life?

Most recently, Immunify.Life has begun leveraging the transformative power of blockchain to help overcome the challenges facing countries with high HIV-positive populations. For example, Kenya has the third-highest burden of HIV patients globally, while 30% of HIV-positive adults and 40% of HIV-positive children do not take their life-saving medications. These statistics highlight the challenges faced not only on the African continent but worldwide.

According to official reports, roughly 9.7 million people live with HIV but are not receiving life-saving treatment. As the world’s biggest infectious disease killer for the last decade, around half of all donor healthcare funding goes to HIV/AIDS initiatives. In recognizing this, Immunify.Life has brought blockchain technology to the medical space, leveraging its immutable, data-validating functionality.

How Does Immunify.Life Use Blockchain?

As a transformative, highly secure, and self-sustaining healthcare system secured by blockchain, Immunify.Life is developing groundbreaking solutions for the 21st century. Specifically, the company aims to address global healthcare providers’ challenges, from data sharing and collaboration to patient treatment, fraud, corruption, and a lack of education among patients, caregivers, and policymakers.

Immunify.Life is an application built using Polygon, a layer 2 protocol on the Ethereum blockchain. As a real-life blockchain solution, the Immunify.Life application supports multiple use cases, including medical records, points, and a native token (IMM). In addition, the Immunify.Life app is interoperable with other apps built on the Polygon blockchain. This functionality will encourage future adoption and will broaden platform exposure.

The Polygon blockchain ensures Immunify.Life provides fast transaction speeds, low transaction costs, and low energy consumption, given its use of the Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus protocol. Working closely with governments in Kenya and Zambia, and with globally recognized partners like MMUST, MPESA , State of the Heart Recovery Center in New Mexico , and iFlux, Immunify.Life has proven it has the infrastructure, technology, and user experience to generate traction and spearhead healthcare transformation worldwide.

It’s critical to reiterate that Immunify.Life is a living blockchain solution, generating real-world results. The company currently operates in several countries in different global regions, working to solve unique healthcare challenges in each. With each success, it becomes increasingly apparent that such opportunities for change would not be possible without the power of blockchain coupled with Immunify.Life’s robust partnership network.

The Immunify.Life Ecosystem

Since the beginning, the Immunify.Life app has been a fully integrated ecosystem built from the ground up—the app is fully developed, ready to deploy, and was built in collaboration with the billion-dollar tech company Hexaware.  Specifically, the Immunify.Life ecosystem comprises three key elements: the mobile Clinical app, the Patient app, the IMM token and the Immunify.Foundation.

Clinical  App

The mobile app gives healthcare workers  a  low cost reliable method of capturing real-time patient data, protecting against inaccurate records, and eliminating manual processes. Requiring only a mobile handset and data network, it is suitable for low cost and rapid scalability.,avoiding expensive hardware set up costs  and software fees.

Patient Mobile App

Patients can use the mobile app to receive incentive rewards for participating in the healthcare system or   share their medical records with institutions and receive benefits or. In addition, the app allows users to manage their IMM token balance and transfer tokens to make payments.

IMM Token

After completing the Know Your Customer (KYC) process on the patient app, users can start receiving IMM token rewards for completing or conforming to treatment regimens. IMM is native to the Immunify.Life ecosystem, enabling the transfer of value between users, healthcare providers, and other network participants. In short, IMM powers the Immunify.Life ecosystem, and is used for:

  • Fees for allowing access to your de-identified health data
  • Payment settlement for organizations like governments and NGOs to sample data
  • Incentive rewards for completing or conforming to treatment regimens
  • Staking to sample de-identified health data

The Immunify.Foundation

The Immunify.Foundation is a not-for-profit philanthropic decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). The foundation’s mission is to encourage and manage cryptocurrency donations to provide equitable access to healthcare for all.

Up Next: Immunify.Life Treatment Outcome Study

Earlier this year, Immunify.Life launched a groundbreaking study in conjunction with the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST). As the largest MMUST campus in Kenya, the Kakamega County location is working with Immunify.Life to demonstrate how the IMM token can be used to bring lapsed patients , previously diagnosed with HIV back on their treatment regimen.

Specifically, the Immunify.Life app is being used to gather data that will allow the company to evaluate the impact of token rewards on treatment adherence rates of previously lapsed patients. The main goal of the study is to empower patients, communities, and countries through an incentivization mechanism accessible from mobile phones. Most important, accrued IMM tokens can be redeemed for local currency through the Immunify.Life patient app.

By the end of April 2023, the required sample size of 600 patients had been recruited into the study and initial data analysis from the baseline study visit had commenced!

The Future of Immunify.Life

Beyond its ongoing work with MMUST, Immunify.Life is also working in Zambia in government clinics to evaluate the effectiveness of capturing accurate  vaccination data and generating ]reliable vaccination certificates  , The use of fake or expired vaccines and the proliferation of fake vaccination certificates has lead to the development and  trialing of the Immunify.life vaccination module . By the end of May 2023, the target of 75 patients had received their first vaccination and the company is awaiting the results of the followup SMS reminder and incentives to assess their impact on the second vaccination rate.

Immunify.life is also working with the New Mexico-based SOH to trial rehab programs that dramatically reduce relapse rates in opioid patients.

Each of these initiatives is powered by the highly secure, self-sustaining Immunify.Life healthcare ecosystem. The innovative app eliminates geoeconomic barriers, integrates an innovative token rewards program, and enables the collection and distribution of accurate, de-identified medical information, generating better patient outcomes.

As a now-proven technology, blockchain holds the potential to revolutionize the healthcare industry, ensuring data privacy while gathering and provisioning critical, real-time data for those who need it in real-time. In addition, the unique token rewards system introduces another layer of utility, providing novel opportunities to improve healthcare processes, lower costs, and ensure all relevant patient data is accurate and reliable.
