  • The Dogecoin lawsuit has indicted more influencers and personalities in the industry.
  • The indicted influencers include Dogecoin co-creator, Billy Markus.

The Dogecoin (DOGE) lawsuit which involves Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO who doubles as the world’s richest man, seems to be getting messy by the day. A new court filing has shown that some celebrities and high-profile individuals have been implicated in the $258 billion lawsuit for promoting the popular memecoin in exchange for benefits that were not disclosed.

In addition to this financial influencing strategy, it was stated in the document that Tesla designated a team that hunts on social media for hate speeches or posts about the company and its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Musk. According to former employees at Tesla, once such remarks are discovered, pressure is seriously mounted on those who post them and they are forced to delete them.

On the other hand, some financial influencers (finfluencers) and celebrities are hired to put out only positive content about Musk and DOGE. In addition to this indicted influencers, the court filing also named some Twitter accounts including that of Dogecoin creator Billy Markus who goes by the moniker Shibetoshi Nakamoto and that of Dogecoin developer ‘Mishaboar.”

Other implicated accounts in the $258 billion lawsuit are DogeDesigner (@cb_doge), Chairman (@WSBChairman), Sir Doge of the Coin (@dogeofficialceo), MyDogeTip (@MyDogeTip), The Under Doge (@TheUnderDoge3), MyDoge Wallet (@MyDogeOfficial) and Alex (@MyDogeCTO).

Celebrities Debunk Allegations Linked to Dogecoin Lawsuit

In response to the bout of allegations, Markus clarified that, unlike the rumor that is being propagated all over, he is not an associate of Elon Musk. On the subject that he never makes any negative remarks about Dogecoin, the software engineer debunked the narrative citing that he consistently makes negative comments about the digital asset which he was a major part of its creation.

He went on to challenge the legality of the allegations noting that he “ thought it was illegal to make false statements, isn’t that perjury? Whatever, legal stuff is way beyond my understanding.”

Mishaboar also tried to clear the air about his involvement with Musk stating that being one of Elon’s “fanboys” is completely alien to what he does. He highlighted that he has never received any ad revenue from the X app and doesn’t think he will be eligible anytime soon. In addition, Mishaboar clarified that he has not received any payment for sponsored posts relating to Dogecoin.

While they have both opened up about their relationship with Musk, Richard L., who initiated the conversation with Markus, still believes that all the listed defendants would need to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the allegations are false.

Before this lawsuit degenerated, Musk had been seeking the dismissal, stating that it had lingered for too long. His legal team has filed a motion of dismissal with a New York federal court, describing the complaint as an “abusive and belligerent litigation tactic” from the opposing counsel.

Evan Spencer from the opposing counsel, had also filed a complaint against Musk’s lawyers citing that they were constantly harassing him. It is not likely that there would be any dismissal of the case as it keeps growing bigger with new dimensions being added to it on a regular basis.
