Ubisoft, a titan in the video game industry, is poised to redefine gaming with its latest venture into the world of web3. The announcement marks the introduction of “Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles” to be hosted on the HOME Verse platform of the Oasys layer-2 network. The scheduled release on October 23 signifies Ubisoft’s forward-thinking adaptation of blockchain technology within its product lineup, a venture initially teased during last year’s IVS Kyoto event.
In “Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles” players will enter the mystical realm of Grimoria. This tactical RPG challenges users to craft teams of mythical characters to battle against one another in PvP formats. The gameplay emphasizes strategic planning and team management, promising to deliver an engaging player experience.
According to Nicolas Pouard, VP of Ubisoft’s Strategic Innovation Lab, the company’s integration of web3 is designed to enhance gameplay naturally. The game will feature a unique system allowing players to forge new champions by merging existing ones, thereby customizing abilities and team attributes.
