- Versan Aljarrah expects the Federal Reserve’s debt refinancing would depreciate the dollar and elevate precious assets such as gold.
- According to Standard Chartered, XRP’s market value will increase five-fold, and it will overtake Ethereum by the end of 2028.
Versan Aljarrah, co-founder of Black Swan Capitalist, has said XRP may play a part in the future financial system. His comments follow early signs suggesting that the U.S. Federal Reserve could act in financial markets due to the tariffs made by President Donald Trump.
Just as we said, Trump will refinance the debt, leading the Fed to print money and buy assets.
Gold is already ahead, anticipating the move. Rate cuts will follow, devaluing the dollar and driving up real assets.

Aljarrah stated that Trump’s proposed policies of refinancing more debts would lead to the Fed pumping more money into the economy. He opined that this scenario would result in rate cuts and depreciation of the dollar, thus strengthening real assets such as gold. Aljarrah further noted that the current higher level was in line with the expectations of investors for such a policy move.
With global financial systems struggling deeper into debts and monetary tightening measures becoming unsustainable in the near future, Aljarrah sees XRP as the most suitable candidate to serve as a neutral reserve asset. He explained that XRP has been designed to be a cross-border settlement asset regardless of the monetary policies of any given country.
XRP Gains Traction Amid De-Dollarization Trends
According to Aljarrah, this view supports emerging theories regarding de-dollarization endeavors. Because several economies are diversifying away from the U.S. dollar for international settlements, such as XRP is seen as an opportunity. This makes the asset faster, scalable and more neutral as compared to traditional payment systems such as SWIFT.
Aljarrah also noted that the willingness of the Fed to provide finance following Trump’s tariffs indicates that easing finances is now a global trend. Under these conditions, the assets that could enable cross-border transactions without necessarily residing in a national currency may become global. According to Aljarrah, XRP could capitalize from this environment if it is a stabilizer.
Standard Chartered Projects XRP to Surpass Ethereum
Global financial institution Standard Chartered has recently offered its stand regarding Ripple’s XRP token. Recently, in a research, the head of Digital Assets, Geoffrey Kendrick, projected that Ripple’s XRP token will rise to as high as $12.50 by the end of 2028 with an increase of 500%. According to Kendrick, XRP’s market cap will surpass Ethereum, making it the second-largest non-stablecoin cryptocurrency.
The report attributes XRP’s rise to its potential role in cross-border settlement, regulatory developments, and institutional adoption. Kendrick expects regulatory approval for an XRP spot ETF in the third quarter of 2025, with first-year trading of $4 to $8 billion. He also claimed that political occasions, such as the possible coming back of Donald Trump to the presidency, can also boost XRP’s performance.
Kendrick also forecasted XRP to rise to $5.50 by the end of 2025, further up to $8.00 in 2026, and reach $12.50 in 2028 if Bitcoin also rises to $500,000 in the same period. He stated that while XRP has relatively few developers currently active on the project, he expects structural benefits and a growing user base to offset this issue moving forward.
Institutional investors are gradually increasing their use of Ripple’s XRP in traditional finance. A 2x leveraged ETF based on XRP futures has been listed on NYSE Arca, allowing traders to multiply their returns. Coinbase also sought permission from the CFTC to launch nano XRP futures. Bitnomial Exchange has offered physically settled XRP futures, meaning deeper involvement in U.S.-regulated platforms.
