  • Buenos Aires hosts educational event on Ethereum for high school students at Centro Metropolitano de Diseño on August 7.
  • Organized by ETH Kipu, the event aims to introduce Ethereum’s applications like DAOs, public goods, and NFTs to students.

The City Government of Buenos Aires has announced a specialized educational event designed to broaden high school students’ understanding of Ethereum. This initiative, scheduled for August 7th at the Centro Metropolitano de Diseño (CDM), will cater exclusively to a select group of students from both public and private schools.

Organized by ETH Kipu, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the Ethereum ecosystem in Latin America, the event targets secondary students to broaden their understanding of Ethereum.

Romina Sejas, co-founder of ETH Kipu, mentioned the successful coordination with the City’s Ministry of Education and appreciated the Minister’s support in facilitating this educational event.

Continuing with our news in Latin America, the agenda includes presentations and interactive stations that will cover a range of topics related to Ethereum, such as decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), public goods, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

“Our mission is to educate students not only about Ethereum but also about the career opportunities within this industry. There are numerous paths for those eager to dive in and find their place,” Sejas remarked.

While Ethereum is widely recognized for its native cryptocurrency, ether (ETH), which ranks as the second most capitalized crypto asset after bitcoin (BTC), its applications extend far beyond. It serves as a foundational network facilitating tokens, ecosystems, and decentralized applications.

Sejas also discussed the goal of gathering feedback to better approach and communicate complex topics like ‘crypto’ and blockchain technology to high school students, a relatively unexplored demographic in this context.

“Based on this feedback, we plan to develop a curriculum for a future course on Ethereum and how to build on this blockchain,” Sejas added.

This upcoming event at the CDM adds to a series of initiatives by ETH Kipu aimed at expanding Ethereum education across Latin America. Last year, the organization began forming an educational community with hubs in various countries, offering Ethereum courses in collaboration with universities. To date, they have conducted over 20 courses in 12 different countries in the region.
