  • China’s Blockchain Service Network (BSN) project will integrate six public blockchains including Ethereum, Tezos, EOS, NEO and Chainlink’s oracle technology.
  • The public blockchains will be part of the BSN International Portal that is set to be launched on August 10th.

China’s Blockchain Service Network (BSN) group has revealed its plan to integrate with six public blockchains. Ethereum, Chainlink, EOS, Tezos, NEO, Nervos and IRISnet will be part of the redesigned BSN International Portal. The portal will be deployed on August 10 of this year and will allow users around the world to access the blockchain technology.

BSN is an infrastructure that provides APIs to websites. In addition, BSN allows websites to offer BSN capabilities and functions. The goal of the BSN project is to build an ecosystem of decentralized applications (DApps) on public blockchains. The DApps will be managed, launched and operated with the blockchains available on BSN. In this way, the project aims to mitigate the problem of high costs associated with the development of DApps.

Furthermore, BSN will provide the developers with tools, interoperability and maintenance. The projects ultimate goal is to build an Internet of permissioned and permissionless blockchains, which eventually drives “millions of dApps” that are fully deployed, managed and interoperable on BSN.

Ethereum, Chainlink and Tezos: How will they be integrated into BSN?

The mentioned public blockchains are only a first step of the integration that is to be extended. BSN also announced that it will add 3-5 new blockchains to its ecosystem at least once a month, whereby the BSN will focus on public blockchains and offer 3 main services: permissionless services, permissioned services, inter-chain services. However, due to Chinese regulations, the permissionless services are only available within the international BSN portal and on the international public city nodes (PNCs).

To start with, the blockchain Service Network will start with the integration of the EOS Dfuse API. This will enable developers to create decentralized applications based on the network using EOS. Shortly thereafter, the BSN project expects to be able to integrate the Ethereum Dfuse API to enable the development of Ethereum-based DApps. On the integration of Chainlink, BSN:

BSN is building the BSN Interchain Communications Hub as a major part of the BSN Public City Nodes. Within the hub there will be two functions: interoperability and oracle. The first interchain framework will be IRITA and the first oracle will be Chainlink.

A demo of the BSN inter-chain communications hub will be launched in September this year. The demo, says BSN, will show the interaction between an EOS DApp, a Fabric DApp and a FISCO BCOS DApp. Additionally, the project will continue to move forward and add partners that support the BSN portal. Currently, several BSN portals have been launched in provinces in China. The managing partner of Dragonfly Capital, Haseeb Qureshi, commented the development as follows:

BSN’s push to open up with support for public blockchains will help China accelerate innovation within crypto. “Blockchain, not Bitcoin” is the gateway drug. Embracing true decentralization is the inevitable next step.
