Chainlink will directly employ Space and Time’s groundbreaking zk-proof, specifically their “Proof of SQL” verifier, on its nodes through this partnership.
Elevating Data Verifiability with Proof of SQL
Space and Time introduced the Proof of SQL in August, initially designing it for queries within their data warehouse. It now offers capabilities to a wider range of centralized and decentralized databases. Its primary function is facilitating verifiable and zk-proven results, a feature invaluable to smart contracts, AI models, and large-scale business enterprises.
Nate Holiday, CEO of Space and Time, underscored the significance of making Proof of SQL universally accessible. Holiday highlighted the intersection of AI and blockchain in global commerce, highlighting the imperative need for data verification. “The future we envision is one where every database undergoes verification via our zk-proof,” he remarked.
Proof of SQL’s operation is straightforward yet powerful. Databases produce a SNARK cryptographic proof of their SQL query’s execution. This ensures that the queries are not only accurate but also free from tampering. The system relies on two main players: the Prover, responsible for generating the query’s proof, and the Verifier, which confirms the proof using a cryptographic data hash.
Chainlink nodes will house the Proof of SQL Verifier in this new arrangement. This integration allows the Chainlink Network to achieve consensus, ensuring the Prover’s results remain uncompromised. It ushers in a more open, transparent, and decentralized approach to data verification.
Space and Time and Chainlink Collaboration
The collaboration doesn’t stop at the integration. Space and Time’s system is already seamlessly integrated with Chainlink Functions. This integration permits users to transmit their query outcomes directly from Space and Time to the blockchain, bolstering the depth of their partnership.
