  • Charles Hoskinson reveals the dream of building Cardano community hubs across all continents of the world.
  • Hopes that by 2025, Cardano would be able to support at least 1 billion unique users.

The CEO of IOHK, Charles Hoskinson in a recent video stated plans to build community hubs across major cities in the world. Hoskinson mentioned that the community hubs would be tasked with helping to localize the use of Cardano among the local people in each community. He went on to discuss how these hubs could be built for efficiency in each community.

In the early days of Cardano, the firm had three divisions: IOHK, Emurgo and the Cardano Foundation (CF). The three divisions worked collectively for the overall growth and development of the Cardano protocol. IOHK was focused on developing the scientific aspect of things while Emurgo was the commercial arm. CF, however, was focused on how to relate with issues bothering in governance and regulations.

CF initially was established at the Isle of Man. This is an island just off the United Kingdom. But due to some administrative issues, the foundation was moved to Switzerland. During this period, the Head of the Foundation, Micheal Parson had to be removed from his office due to his method of operations.

A new interim board was set up and had the mandate of representing the will of the community. But upon the entrance of this new board, CF still had the problem of “who controls the blueprint of Cardano?” Not only this, the board still had issues when it comes to community representation.

Hoskinson believes the solution to this would be to set up a community hub that would be set up across the world. These hubs would regularly receive grants and directives from the CF board on their operations. The hubs would also be able to localize the use of Cardano which he believes would accelerate the growth of the crypto asset.

He went on to identify that the CF board would perform oversight functions on these hubs. He notes that these hubs would play a massive role in getting the locals to use Cardano. Thus, it is necessary to provide these hubs with the necessary level of support and resources that can allow them to operate effectively in their host communities.

The IOHK CEO went on to advise that these hubs should run on John Buck’s Sociocracy system. He says this system would be a catalyst to draw out the best from the group. And again, the hubs would regularly carry out elections to determine their operations and leadership.

Cardano entering into a new phase

Hoskinson has stated that the dream of Cardano would be to have 1 billion unique users on it platform by 2025. He believes that this is something that is quite achievable considering the fact that Facebook was also able to achieve the same goal in five years.

He went on to note that this would be a very easy mission to achieve. But he strongly believes that with the right infrastructure and the right settings, it would be possible. He also noted that Cardano would need to have smart contracts, become more decentralized and also have other factors in place in this new phase that it is being steered towards.

Hoskinson says that without all of those factors in place, users and investors in the platform would not be able to vote on what the next phase would be. You can watch the latest video update here:
