  • Charles Hoskinson, co-founder of Cardano, has slammed Craig Wright’s massive $1.2 Trillion lawsuit against Bitcoin Core and Square.
  • Craig Wright has recently disagreed with Michael Saylor’s alleged promotion of BTC as a system that functioned as a peer-to-peer electronic cash built on Satoshi Nakamoto’s vision.

Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano (ADA) has not held back from voicing his frustration over the theatrics of the self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto. Australian Computer Scientist, Dr.Craig Wright has filed a legal claim against Bitcoin Core, the software used to distribute Bitcoin and Square, Jack Dorsey’s payment company for $1.2 Trillion.

According to Bitmex Research, court records indicate that Wright independently filed the lawsuit on October 10, appearing as a ‘litigant in person’ without the assistance of legal professionals such as a solicitor or barrister. The research platform highlighted that Wright might not be able to reassert his claims of being Satoshi Nakamoto, the Bitcoin creator.

Cryptocurrency Clash: Charles Hoskinson vs Craig Wright

The Cardano founder has voiced his displeasure on his X account, questioning why the courts continue to allow Wright to file lawsuits that many consider baseless. Hoskinson sees these actions as driven by delusions and has called out Wright for misleading the public with false claims about Bitcoin’s origins.

This frustration comes after a long history of animosity between the two, with Wright previously criticizing Hoskinson and the Cardano project itself. In 2023 Hoskinson found himself on the receiving end of some harsh criticism. In a podcast interview with British entrepreneur Alfie Whattam, Craig Wright accused the founder of running a scam, questioning what Hoskinson has actually created beyond just hyping up money and people. Wright’s comments were direct and critical, leaving no room for diplomacy.

He mentioned that Cardano is just another coin created solely for the purpose listed on exchanges and pumped in value, without any real functionality or purpose. Hoskinson responded with a dismissive and a nail-on-the-head tweet. He wrote, “Breaking News, No one cares”.

In another recent outburst, Craig Wright accused Michael Saylor, the CEO of MicroStrategy of betraying Bitcoin’s foundational principles by proposing to turn MicroStrategy into a Bitcoin merchant bank. Wright criticized Saylor for centralizing Bitcoin and obstructing its intended purpose, which is to eliminate intermediaries in transactions. This bold criticism comes at a time when Saylor is positioning Microstrategy as a major BTC holder and an advocate for Bitcoin as “Digital Gold”.

This clash highlights ongoing tensions within the cryptocurrency community regarding Bitcoin’s future direction, particularly as Saylor advocates for Bitcoin as a long-term investment akin to digital gold, while Wright insists on its original design for everyday transactions.

Satoshi’s Disputed Identity

The mystery surrounding Bitcoin’s creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, continues as no one has definitively identified the person or group behind the pseudonym. Craig Wright, who has publicly claimed to be Satoshi, has faced skepticism despite his efforts to provide evidence.

His assertions have included presenting technical documents and engaging in legal battles, but critics argue his proof lacks credibility. This ongoing debate underscores the broader issues of anonymity, trust, and the decentralized nature of Bitcoin, leaving the true identity of its creator shrouded in uncertainty.
