  • The Milkomeda project seeks to make Cardano the top EVM chain by allowing users to gain access to the Ethereum virtual machine smart contracts via any Cardano wallet.
  • Similarly, Layer 2 protocol Paima seeks to make the Cardano blockchain a top gaming chain with unique NFTs dubbed Stateful NFTs.

The Cardano ecosystem is likely to receive a major boost as market players are now working to bring new projects to the platform. Sebastien Guillemot, the founder of Layer 2 protocol Milkomeda recently shared how three major projects have come to life with the support of the Cardano Treasury.

He explains how the Cardano Treasury has contributed over $130K to three major projects built for the Cardano ecosystem. The names include dcSpark, Milkomeda, and Paima.

All these three above-mentioned tools have received a vote from Catalyst voters and these open-source tools for the Cardano ecosystem shall be released soon. As we know, Project Catalyst involves a series of experiments to generate the highest levels of community innovation.

Catalyst seeks to bring on-chain governance to the Cardano blockchain by allowing the community to decide on growth priorities. With Project Catalyst, participants can deploy the funding to proposals, tackle challenges, as well as capitalize on opportunities that arise in the life cycle of Cardano.

However, let’s take a look into what each of the above three projects – dcSparks, Milkomeda, and Paima, have been contributing to the Cardano ecosystem.

dcSpark – Create Cardano Wallets Easily

Last week on March 31, dcSpark in partnership with txpipe announced the launch of the Cardano Wallet OneBox. Also dubbed Wob (Wallet OneBox), is a single command line tool allowing users to easily download, start, and manage all the backend tools required to run a Cardano wallet backend.

Milkomeda – Accessing Ethereum dApps from Cardano Wallets

Last week, Sebastien Guillemot announced that Cardano is all set to become the top EVM chain very soon. This will happen as Milkomeda, an Ethereum Virtual Machine network, goes live.

Thus, anyone using the Cardano blockchain will be able to gain access to the Ethereum virtual machine smart contracts via any Cardano wallet. Sebastien said: “Milkomeda (Cardano’s EVM layer) is launching a feature allowing EVERY Cardano user to use EVM contracts directly from ANY Cardano wallet”.

Furthermore, Sebastien also stated that Milkomeda is planning to enable staking rewards for all EVM users along with smart contract developers. Milkomeda noted that they would be distributing these staking rewards every five days.

This new feature will allow Ethereum application developers to build on the Cardano network using the computer programming language Solidity.

Paima – Making Cardano the Top Gaming Chain

In addition to making Cardano a top EVM chain, Paima Studios will work along with Milkomeda to make the blockchain a top gaming chain. Paima is a Layer 2 protocol for on-chain games powered by any Web2 language and using any game engine. The announcement notes: “Paima supports deploying your game to the Cardano ecosystem, yet have it be playable ANY wallet from other chains”.

Furthermore, the Layer 2 protocol Paim will support a new form of NFT dubbed Stateful NFTs.These NFTs will evolve under arbitrary conditions as one progresses through the game. currently, Paima Studios has kept it absolutely free for Paima users to use the Paima Engine.
