  • Shiba Inu has been drafted as one of the 50 digital currencies now accepted by Ingenico and Binance.
  • The influence of the SHIB token as a payment token is growing by the day.

As a part of its recognition as one of the most versatile digital currencies, Shiba Inu (SHIB) has been drafted as a payment option as Binance Exchange recently inked a major partnership with global payment giant Ingenico.

Binance revealed the partnership first on its Twitter handle noting that “Crypto payments just got easier in France. We’ve recently partnered with Ingenico, a global payment solutions provider, to enable users to pay in crypto through Binance Pay. Another milestone for global crypto adoption.”

With the consistent growth in the broad acclaim surrounding digital currencies today, Binance and Ingenico will bring additional crypto payment utilities to millions of users around the world beginning in France. Ingenico is a merchant services technology company based in France, that facilitates secure electronic transactions.

Riding on its long history as a tech and payment facilitator, the pivot into digital is a vote of confidence for the nascent asset class, and more specifically, Shiba Inu. In the long term, the duo’s offering will bring a total of about 50 digital currencies to users at more than 40 million payment terminals in the 37 countries where Ingenico operates.

Charting Payment Flexibility

The Binance and Ingenico partnership will be accessed by Binance Pay and has been designed to offer additional flexibility for digital payment merchants. As highlighted by Ingenico, the crypto payment option will bring an all-in-one solution rather than the multiple integrations that are often required by merchants.

“As a leading payment ecosystem accelerator, we are excited to partner with up-and-coming brands like Binance to bring cryptocurrency payments to retail for consumers around the world. Ingenico, which strives to create solutions adapted to the modern world of payments, partners with experts to ensure that consumers benefit from a smoother transaction process, whatever their method of payment,” said Michel Léger, Executive Vice President for Innovation and Global Solutions at Ingenico.

The number of crypto holders is growing and with more assets making waves, users are exploring avenues by which they can get additional utilities across the board. Such payment options as is being offered by the duo of Binance and Ingenico will further fuel the ability to make the right choice depending on the situation.

A Boost for Shiba Inu Army

Shiba Inu remains the top memecoin in the industry today and the core developers have been pushing the direct listing of the token for payment of various platforms. In one of the most recent updates, Shiba Inu was adjudged as one of the top payment methods on Coingate, a Lithuania-based crypto payment gateway.

The Shiba Inu token was also integrated by Fireblocks to allow its merchants to onboard the digital token as payment. This series of impressive ecosystem updates have pushed SHIB as one of the best-performing tokens in the year-to-date period.

SHIB is up by more than 40% since the start of the year and is changing hands at $0.00001307 at the time of writing.
