Saxony, Germany – September 6, 2023 – The vibrant Blockchain Meetup Saxony community is excited to announce its latest event, Blockchain Meetup Saxony #61, which will be held as an online gathering on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm (CEST). This event is hosted as part of the esteemed Blockchain Autumn School at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences.

As the community reconvenes after a brief summer hiatus, this meetup promises an engaging exploration of Bitcoin and its growing influence, featuring a dynamic lineup of speakers and participants. All enthusiasts and interested individuals are invited to join and share in the knowledge and insights that will be shared during the event.

The focal point of this meetup will be Bitcoin, and attendees will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the “BitCoin machine made in Mittweida.” The technical presentation will be delivered by Mr. Tim Käbisch from BCCM (Blockchain Competence Center Mittweida), providing valuable insights into this locally developed Bitcoin machine.

Subsequently, attendees will hear from prominent speakers, including Ms. Joana Cotar, Member of the German Parliament, and her colleague Mr. Stephan Schmidt, who will delve into the details and objectives of the initiative “Bitcoin in the German Bundestag.” This initiative marks a significant step in the integration of blockchain technology into the political landscape, and participants will have the opportunity to learn about its goals and implications.

The event will culminate in an open discussion, where questions and answers will flow freely among the engaged audience. The discussion will commence with the intriguing theme, “How does the blockchain showcase region Mittweida make it into the German Parliament?” and will explore the avenues through which local blockchain innovations can influence national politics.

  2. Presentation – Introduction of BitCoin/Lightning Snack Machine by Mr. Tim Käbisch, BCCM (20 minutes)
  3. Presentation of the Initiative “Bitcoin in the German Parliament” by Ms. Joana Cotar, Member of the German Bundestag, and Mr. Stephan Schmidt, Scientific Staff (30 minutes)
  4. Open Discussion Round with the initial topic: “How does the blockchain showcase region Mittweida make it into the German Parliament?” (30-45 minutes)
