Internet browser Opera and cryptocurrency payment firm, Wyre, has revealed their new partnership. Through this cooperation, Opera integrates a new feature that allows its users to buy Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) directly. The feature is only available to users in the United States.

Opera is a search engine known, among other things, for its functionality with cryptocurrencies. Buy Bitcoin and Ethereum with Apple Pay and other methods

According to the announcement, the cooperation is an important step in Opera’s strategy to boost the adoption of cryptocurrencies and facilitate their access for its users. U.S. residents will be able to use their debit card and iOS users will also be able to use Apple Pay to purchase Bitcoin and Ethereum. Opera plans to expand its new feature to other countries soon.

Charles Hamel, Head of Crypto at Opera browsers, spoke about the partnership with Wyre. Hamel said the cooperation is part of Opera’s long-term strategy to bring blockchain technology to the real world and put it to use beyond the speculative market. Hamel added:

Allowing our users to easily load cryptocurrency into their browser’s digital wallet is very powerful, as it connects the Web to a global internet-native payment network. In the past, obtaining cryptocurrencies was a cumbersome process that took hours or even days. When you compare it with this seamless solution, which takes less than 30 seconds, it really is a gamechanger,

On the other hand, Wyre representative Jack Jia praised Opera’s initiative and the features it offers its users in privacy and security. In addition, Jack Jia added:

Combining Web3 with Wyre fiat onramps will open up powerful financial use cases for its 360 million users worldwide. Our team is stoked to be building alongside Opera,
