  • Leaked videos from an unnamed source show a partnership between Attorney Kyle Roche and Ava Labs CEO Emin Gün Sirer.
  • The video alleges Ava Labs used “litigation as a tool” for disrupting competitors and misdirecting regulators.

Ava Labs CEO Emin Gün Sirer has finally responded to some major allegations thrown at the firm recently. Last week, CryptoLeaks published an article noting that Ava Labs has a secret pact with U.S. law firm Roche Freedman.

As per CryptoLeaks, Ava Labs has been using the American legal system “gangster style” to “attack and harm crypto organizations”. Last Friday, August 26, CryptoLeaks published a series of videos from an unknown source that shows U.S. Attorney Kyle Roche of Roche Freedman LLP explaining their partnership with Aval Labs CEO and COO, Emin Gün Sirer and Kevin Sekniqi respectively. The official announcement from CryptoLeaks reads:

Some years ago, blockchain company Ava Labs and Amercian law firm Roche Freedman, made a deal. A pact was formed that involved Ava Labs granting Roche Freedman a massive quantity of Ava Labs stock and Avalanche cryptocurrency (AVAX), now worth hundreds of millions of dollars, in exchange for Roche Freedman agreeing to pursue a hidden purpose.

Besides, the allegations noted that Ava Labs would use “litigation as a tool” for disrupting its competitors. They would also misdirect the regulators such as the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the U.S. Security Exchange Commission (SEC). On Sunday, August 28, Ava Labs CEO Emin Gün Sirer responded to the allegations noting:

How could anyone believe something so ridiculous as the conspiracy theory nonsense on Cryptoleaks? We would never engage in the unlawful, unethical and just plain wrong behavior claimed in these self-serving videos and inflammatory article. Our tech & team speak for themselves.

Here’s what CryptoLeaks videos have to show

As per CryptoLeaks, the videos of Roche show a very close relationship between him and Ava Labs CEO. The deal between the two reportedly happened in August 2019 when they started working in a co-working space together.

Roche stated: “Gün [Sirer] … we did a deal, where I agreed to provide legal services in exchange for a certain percentage of the token supply.”

Another video showed Roche saying that they “used [litigation services]as a strategic instrument to support Ava Labs”. In the video, Roche also adds:

I sue half the companies in this space, I know where this market is going, I believe [I am] one of the top 10 [crypto experts]in this world… I’ve seen the insides of every single crypto company.

He “makes sure that the SEC and CFTC have other magnets [Avalanche competitors] to go after,” adding that “litigation can be a tool to competition.”

The developments have garnered comments from some of the top industry players. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said: “Can’t comment on the validity of the slew of allegations in here, but I can unequivocally say that I have never met or spoken to (much less invested in) Kyle Roche”.
