  • The Demia project will provide access as well as secure environmental data in an effortless and dependable manner.
  • It seeks to handle challenges related to data accuracy, ownership, and accessibility, ultimately leading to increased funding for projects.

The IOTA Foundation has always been a step ahead when it comes to addressing sustainability and other climate change issues. In the past, IOTA has worked with key players such as ClimateCHECK and Dell Technologies to build sustainable solutions and address climate issues.

One such solution is the DigitalMRV that uses IOTA’s distributed ledger technology, which is permissionless, feeless, and energy efficient. It combines a 3D digital representation of the site with digital devices, using IOTA Streams for secure and real-time data connections and evaluation. All data and information are stored on the IOTA Tangle distributed ledger, ensuring a lightweight and scalable infrastructure that guarantees immutability, transparency, and trust.

Mayy Yarger, the founder of DigitalMRV recently announced that they are now rebranding the project as Demia, and building it into something that’s even bigger. Yarger predicts a future where accessing, securing, and utilizing environmental data is effortless and dependable. Demia is actively working to create a community dedicated to improving the systems that handle environmental data. Their goal is to use advanced technology to expedite our journey toward a sustainable future.

Demia will work as a platform for businesses in order to coordinate their environmental reporting. It will onboard project developers, auditors, VVBs, and certifiers. Demia aims to provide a seamless experience for a project to secure the certification along with advanced remote monitoring and reporting.

Addressing Challenges With Environmental Data

Demia has the ability to tackle challenging issues related to environmental data and build trust in the impact of projects. With an improved system, it can overcome challenges related to data accuracy, ownership, and accessibility, ultimately leading to increased funding for projects.

However, Demia’s vision goes beyond just carbon markets. They aim to create a global community where engineers work together to improve environmental data systems. This involves utilizing technologies like edge data collection, remote sensing, smart contracts, and digital twins to enhance and refine the process.

Demia is on a mission to revolutionize environmental reporting and establish a future where sustainability is the standard. Through these efforts, they aim to create an ecosystem that prioritizes trust, transparency, and accountability. By harnessing the power of data, Demia will drive sustainability forward and bring about the much-needed change we seek, all while working together.

Yarger said that they would be announcing the results of their fundraising over the next few months. Besides, they will also be publishing the whitepapers sharing the full scope of their vision with Demia.
